     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-uptpq嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. Powertpq嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thantpq嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034tpq嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltagetpq嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency attpq嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andtpq嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.tpq嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effecttpq嘉泰姆
in DCM mode. The CXSU63034 is available in SOT23-6 package.tpq嘉泰姆

1)General Descriptiontpq嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.tpq嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve hightpq嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at atpq嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses thetpq嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthtpq嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device cantpq嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and thetpq嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.tpq嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation tpq嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peaktpq嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at atpq嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachtpq嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andtpq嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumtpq嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errortpq嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and thetpq嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controltpq嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichtpq嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and thetpq嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.tpq嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification tpq嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier totpq嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need fortpq嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier istpq嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by thetpq嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. Thetpq嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOStpq嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatestpq嘉泰姆
