     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-upWQm嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. PowerWQm嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanWQm嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034WQm嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltageWQm嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency atWQm嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andWQm嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.WQm嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effectWQm嘉泰姆

1)General DescriptionWQm嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.WQm嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highWQm嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aWQm嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theWQm嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthWQm嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canWQm嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theWQm嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.WQm嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation WQm嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakWQm嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aWQm嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachWQm嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andWQm嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumWQm嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorWQm嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theWQm嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlWQm嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichWQm嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theWQm嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.WQm嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification WQm嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toWQm嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forWQm嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isWQm嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theWQm嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. TheWQm嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSWQm嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesWQm嘉泰姆
