     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-upJ0I嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. PowerJ0I嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanJ0I嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034J0I嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltageJ0I嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency atJ0I嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andJ0I嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.J0I嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effectJ0I嘉泰姆
in DCM mode. The CXSU63034 is available in SOT23-6 package.J0I嘉泰姆

1)General DescriptionJ0I嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.J0I嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highJ0I嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aJ0I嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theJ0I嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthJ0I嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canJ0I嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theJ0I嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.J0I嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation J0I嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakJ0I嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aJ0I嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachJ0I嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andJ0I嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumJ0I嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorJ0I嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theJ0I嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlJ0I嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichJ0I嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theJ0I嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.J0I嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification J0I嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toJ0I嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forJ0I嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isJ0I嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theJ0I嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. TheJ0I嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSJ0I嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesJ0I嘉泰姆
